Barbara Kaumeyer joined Atlanta, Georgia’s Department of Community Health as the deputy finance director in 2023. In this position, Barbara Kaumeyer adheres to regulations and policies defined by the State of Georgia Accounting Policies and Procedures and Governmental Accounting Standards.

She serves the department as a financial and compliance advisor. Outside of her work with the Department of Community Health, Barbara Kaumeyer raises awareness regarding the importance of accounting and finance education.

Ms. Kaumeyer studied accounting at Jacksonville State University in Alabama. In addition to her accounting degree, she maintains certification as a fraud examiner and as a government auditing professional. Before joining the Department of Community Health in Atlanta, she held roles such as financial analyst and internal audit manager for the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities. Away from her professional activities, she maintains several outdoor interests, including camping, hiking, and kayaking.
